Beaune 1er Cru Les Epenottes, Domaine Parent, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, 2022 

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir, hand harvested, clay/limestone soil, vine age is a combination of 60+ years & 30+ years, 30% whole cluster, indigenous yeast fermentation, 14 to 15 months' ageing in French oak (35% new). 

A bright and intense colour. Very expressive and elegant. This “climat” is situated on the verge of Beaune, on the Pommard side. It produces a wine combining the delicacy of the first and the intensity of the second

There is a textured and caressing mouth feel to the admirably concentrated and vibrant medium-bodied flavours that display a touch of wood on the mildly rustic and delicious finish. 

Critic's Tasting Note:

"A very pretty red berry fruit nose is trimmed in both oak and freshly turned earth wisps. The succulent, round and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors terminate in a dusty but not really rustic finale. This satisfying effort is very Beaune in style."

For nearly fifteen years, the domaine has been using traditional, biodynamic methods of cultivation, vinification and ageing, based on the natural cycle of the "climats" and the personality of the grapes in each year. An harmonious approach to soil and vines that brings vitality, energy and resistance. The estate has been certified organic by Ecocert since 2013.

Food Match: Great with poultry, roast meats, snails in red wine sauce.
