Description
Charles Hours "Clos Uroulat" Jurancon, South West France, 2020, Half Bottle
Grape: 100% Petit Manseng, manual harvest, fermented and aged 10 months in oak barrels (10% new)
This lovely dessert wine from renowned producer Charles Hours is fresh yet rich and ripe from late harvested grapes. There is honeyed fruit (apricot, mango, pineapple), hints of flowers and orange, cinnamon spice and a good balance of acidity. It is also quite delicious!
The wine region of Jurancon is situated in the foothills of the Pyrenees in south west France and it produces some remarkable dry and sweet wines from the Petit Manseng grape. The climate affecting the estate is influenced by the Atlantic ocean, and is one of the wettest wine producing regions in France.
Many vintages of Charles' Uroulat wines come highly recommended by Jancis Robinson.
Food Match: Fruit based desserts and pancakes, but also foie gras and savoury pies.
