Description

Chateau de Fesles, Bonnezeaux, Anjou, Loire, France, 2014, 50cl

Grape: 100% Chenin Blanc, 131g/L residual sugar (sweet)

Producer Tasting Note:

Golden and brilliant, pale yellow colour with orange reflections. The nose has slightly smoky, jammy, aromas of apricot and linden-tree. Suave, slightly spicy palate. The attack is clean and lively with citrus lemon acidity. Unctuously sweet and honeyed texture. Finally, the freshness and harmony are balanced by the mellow woody taste.

The Château de Fesles is located in the heart of Anjou, south of Angers. Its exceptional geographical position as well as its proximity to the Layon river make it possible to produce wines with a racy and complex character, including the famous Bonnezeaux. This world-renowned sweet white wine is one of the symbols of this magnificent wine estate and has the potential to age for 15-20 years. The chateau are owners of 25% of the entire Bonnezeaux appellation plantings.

Critic's Tasting Note:

" Lisa Soggia of Kai Mayfair noted that the ‘high acidity really balances this complex wine', and thought that the ‘baked apricot, orange marmalade, vanilla and honey mix throughout the palate with twist of white pepper on the finish'."

Silver Medal, SOMMELIER WINE AWARDS, 2019

Also awarded GOLD, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, 2023, and multiple GOLDS, Berlin Wine Trophy (2021/2022/2023)
