"Dark ruby garnet colour with opaque core and purple reflections, delicate brightening on the rim. Candied orange zest, dark wild berries, a touch of overripe, hints of dried figs in the background. Juicy, textured, sweet nougat, hints of prunes, salty nuances, a more opulent style, chocolatey on the finish, a versatile food wine for spicy dishes and BBQs."

"The 2022 La Croix de Gay is deep garnet-purple in color. A little shut-down to begin, with coaxing the nose opens to reveal scents of stewed black and red cherries, prunes, and mocha, followed by wafts of charcoal and damp soil. The full-bodied palate is dense and spicy, with soft tannins and well-judged acidity, finishing on a savory note."  Drink 2026-2043
