Grapes: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot from vines with an average age of 40 years, hand picked, 12-14 months ageing in French oak barrels (30% new)

Producer Tasting Note:

Teynac has an intense colour with a nose of ripe fruit, fresh floral notes and is slightly spicy with a touch of cherry pit. This wine is characterised by its fruit and freshness. The mouth has structured tannins giving a smooth and silky textured Saint Julien wine offering blackcurrant and cassis flavours which may be consumed now, or given a few more years' cellaring. Long and rich with expressive fruit on the finish.

"This small estate in the prestigious Saint-Julien appellation has produced a ripe, structured but also generously fruity wine. Tannins are already integrating with the acidity and classic black-currant fruit. The wine has a stylish air and good potential." Drink from 2024

Established in 1990 by the Pairault family, the chateau is situated on the Beychevelle plateau (gravel & clay) and is surrounded by classed growth properties. Growing in size from the original 4.5ha, a further 8ha have been added in small, fragmented parcels over the following 30 years. The wines are characterised by density, complexity and a distinct elegance
