NOSE: Apricot, popcorn toffee, vanilla cream, Meyer lemon zest. PALATE: Light texture, notes of toffee, roasted chestnut, gingerbread, vanilla and black pepper. FINISH: Medium-long with honey and black pepper
The follow-up to the original white label, this "Premium" (black label) is bottled at a higher strength of 50% ABV. Ichiro's Malt & Grain is blended by the king of independent Japanese distillers: Ichiro Akuto. It comprises whisky from his own stocks, including potentially Hanyu and Karuizawa as well as his own Chichibu distillery, and possibly also some components distilled at other Japanese distilleries and from other countries. As it says on the label: "This is worldwide blended whisky".
