Chichibu Hanyu Ichiro's Malt "Chibidaru" Original Quarter Cask [#4209/6200], Single Malt Whisky, Japan, 70cl

Nose: A refined combination of honey, vanilla, and ripe apple, with subtle notes of cinnamon and toasted oak. A touch of tropical fruit, like mango, adds a playful element. Palate: Full and rich on the palate, with layers of caramel, toffee, and hints of apricot. The woody influence brings a soft spiciness, with accents of nutmeg and white pepper. Finish: Long and warming, with lingering notes of vanilla, dark chocolate, and a subtle hint of citrus. A velvety woody note completes the experience.

Distilled in 2010 and bottled in 2013, this bottle is part of a batch of 6200 produced in this year. Aged in specially made shortened "Chibidaru" (quarter cask) oak barrels. The uniquely small size (150 litre) concentrates the whisky's interaction with the wood, intensifying the flavour and speeding up the maturation process.
