Grapes: A blend of 85% Semillon, 13% Sauvignon and 2% Muscadelle 

There is a lot of freshness in this sweet wine, aromas such as fresh pineapple, mango and other citrus fruits. There is a very good balance, not too much sugar in the mouth and a good vivacity, which gives the wine this finesse and digestible character that makes you want to come back for more!

Château Doisy-Védrines, the largest of the Doisy estates and a 2éme Cru Classé Barsac property, has been owned by the Castéja family since 1946. Doisy-Védrines`s 27 hectares of vineyards are situated on the highest plateau in Barsac.
The crop is handpicked by successive selections (`tris`) as the workers pass through the vines, selecting only `botrytised grapes`. This is done three times. The wine ferments in barrels slowly until beginning of December and rests for a further year before being bottled. The finest barrels are reserved for the first wine but about 40% of production goes into the `second` wine DV. Thanks to the botrytis, this wine has developed aromas of exotic fruits, quinces and oranges. It has a deliciously smooth finish.

Food Match: For an aperitif on its own, or with foie gras, or ideal with blue cheese like Stilton towards the end of the meal.
