Description
Fleurie, Domaine Andre Colonge, Cru Beaujolais, Burgundy, France, 2023, Half Bottle
Grape: 100% Gamay, 7ha vineyard on granite soil, manual harvest
André Colonge is a 30-hectare family domaine with a long history in the region. Currently, the estate is run by two brothers, Landry and Samuel. The property is located in Lancié, where they produce Beaujolais Villages wines.
The nose reveals the character of the terroir: dominant floral and spicy with lilac, violet and pepper. Silky tannins and ripe black fruits, gentle spice and pepper.
Critic's Tasting Note:
"Juicy and fruit-forward, this medium-bodied red has supple tannins accompanying aromas of strawberries and boysenberries. Lovely soft texture. Drink now."
90/100 points, James Suckling, February 2025
Food Match: A great partner to Charolais steak in Beaujolais sauce, poultry and white meat, as well as cheeses.
