Grapes: A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, matured in new and seasoned French oak barrels for 12 months

A nose of blackcurrant fruit, earthy tones, and cacao. Full bodied palate with red pepper, cashew & vanilla flavours. A lean and powerful finish with luxurious oak and subtle eucalyptus notes. This wine shows exceptional complexity and richness with great potential to age.

The 2017 vintage is ripe for drinking and complex – a classic expression of the classic left-bank style with notes of dark berries, cedarwood, tobacco and a nicely structured tannin profile. The wine is created by winemaker Sébastien Long, who unites French terroir with modern approach and uncompromising quality.

Maison Grand Esprit is an ambitious French wine project created by Treasury Wine Estates with the goal of making luxurious French wine accessible and appealing to a new generation of wine lovers. One of the house's flagships is from Saint-Estèphe and is the culmination of this philosophy.

Critic's Tasting Note:

"A solid core of fruit in this red for the vintage with a medium body, medium-chewy tannins, currant and walnut flavors and a flavorful finish."  Drink after 2020.
