Grape: 100% Pinot Gris, single vineyard at 400m altitude on Mt. Torrens (21 year old vines), hand-picked, whole bunch pressing, unoaked

Producer Tasting Note:

The 2022 Pinot Gris offers excellent aromatic and flavour intensity, with fresh citrus, pear, honeysuckle and spicy notes abounding. The palate is wonderfully textural and has great length of flavour. Bright crunchy acid and savoury spice combine with a delicate minerality resulting in a wine that is both flavoursome and intriguing. Much drier on the palate than many Alsace or New World "Gris" which often have a touch of residual sweetness. This one doesn't!

Critic's Tasting Note:

"A single site in Mount Torrens, all handpicked. A meld of free-run juice and a touch (8%) of pressings. Superlative gris defined by a crescendo of textural detail that's chewy, pixelated and vibrant. A spurt of gentle, juicy natural acidity at the back end. Nashi pear, wild fennel and roasted apple pour long. This is not complex, by any stretch, but that is seldom what gris is about. This is the wine to service the table for anything and everything, except for red meat. Roast pork, now! Drink now. Screw cap."
