Description
Janneau VS Grand Armagnac, France
An elegant, golden, warm spirit, which has a sweet and welcoming nose of mirabelle plums followed by notes of prunes and vanilla. This Armagnac has flavours of cooked plum and is produced entirely from double pot still distillation at Janneau's unique distillery in Condom, Gers. The subtle hint of liquorice in the long finish is characteristic of the originality of the Janneau style.
Janneau choose white wine from the best crus of the Armagnac Region and distill them with infinite care. They are then matured in casks of Gascon oak. Janneau have been practising this from father to son for over 170 years. Founded in 1851 by Pierre Etienne Janneau, Janneau is the oldest of the great houses of Armagnac and the most awarded Armagnac in the world. Janneau’s vast stocks and unparalleled collection of old Armagnacs enables the skilful blending of several different Armagnacs to create consistent, award-winning styles.
