Description
Les Collines de Laure Blanc, Jean-Luc Colombo, IGP Méditerranée, Rhône, France, 2020
Grapes: A blend of 80% Viognier and 20% Rolle (Vermentino)
Producer Tasting Note:
A bright yellow colour with green highlights. Delicate nose of white flowers (Oriental lilies), freshly cut grass with hints of fennel, white peach and pear fruits. The palate is fresh and structured, nicely rounded, with tangerine-like acidity and a surprising long finish.
Critical Acclaim:
Multiple previous vintages have been awarded 89-90/100 points by Anna Lee C. Iijima, WINE ENTHUSIAST
"Les Collines de Laure" (The Hills of Laure) brings together a blend of grapes from the Rhône and Provence with grapes chosen from carefully selected parcels in the best terroirs. This is a lovely fusion of regions where the Provençal grape Rolle (aka Vermentino) joins Viognier in a textured, weighty yet elegant white. Traditional vinification, with a long fermentation at low temperature is then followed by bottling quickly to preserve the wines wonderful freshness and fruit.
Food Match: Pairs perfectly with a pissaladière (onion/olive/anchovy savoury tart), wild asparagus in omelette, fritters of courgette flowers, grilled cuttle fish, or simply as an aperitif. Serve chilled 12⁰C
