Producer Tasting Note:
More of a tropical, laid back feel to this with marmalade, peach, pineapple and honey as you move forward through the sensations. Lanolin smooth texture, lovely refreshing acidity nicely integrated and a really fine long finish.
Could be labelled as Sélection de Grains Nobles but they aren’t always aged for the minimum 18 months before release. With 140g/l residual sugar the finish is much drier due to the fabulous acidity (a recurring theme in these wines). Produced from the young vines of the estate's vineyards. Picked grape-by-grape, in multiples passes through the vineyard (tries), when affected by the all-important noble rot (botrytis cinerea).
Food Match: Blue cheese works well, duck/chicken liver pate is perfect. Nibble some nuts and raisins with it, fruit desserts … or honestly just on its own is lovely
