Grapes: A multi-regional blend of 81% Shiraz and 19% Mataro, oaked

NOSE: The aromatics are dominated by brightly lifted red fruits of cranberry, red currants and rhubarb. Scents of freshly sliced cured meats and black olive tapenade provide a savoury nuance. Underlying spice is derived from oak maturation, evoking sumac and cardamom.

PALATE: The enticing aromatics are amplified on the palate. Loose-knit and lacy tannins provide structural foundations, with juicy red fruit acidity giving rise to a balanced medium-bodied wine. Further complex savoury characters of roasted celeriac and fresh vegetable consommé create another level of complexity.

Producer Note:

Upon sipping, one is met with tannins that are elegant and loose knit – soft to the touch yet structurally sound. They set the stage for a relaxed and approachable mouthfeel that beckons further exploration. A steely resolve underscores the palate experience, punctuated by bursts of pomegranate and an acidity reminiscent of Goji berries – vibrant and invigorating. This vintage revels in its cool fruit dominance; it’s an ode to poise and restraint in flavour. Notes of shale contribute an earthen spine to this composition, while accents of olive tapenade weave through hints of saline and squid ink.

"Ripe plums, raspberries and toasted spices on the nose and the palate. Linear and pure in its aromatic presentation. Rich and deep flavours from entry to finish. Full-bodied structure with tannins supporting the frame. Finish is somewhat dense and bitter for now. This needs an hour of decanting or 2-3 years of ageing for it to show its potential. Consistent quality year after year."
