Grapes: A traditional blend of 85% Montepulciano & 15% Sangiovese, organic, sustainable farming, 4ha vineyard on the Colle del Sole, aged in large oak barrels for 12 months
The wine has aromas of blackberry and cranberry sitting alongside an earthy, herbal character. The palate has layers of bramble fruit and plum, with a savoury undertone, velvety tannins and a lingering minerality on the finish.
The 350ha estate was created in 1976 by the Pieralisi family. Consisting of 103ha of vineyards planted around Ancona in the central Italian, Marche region, (mostly producing the white wine, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi). from the 2019 vintage the estate and wines were certified as organic.
Food Match: Good with tomato-based dishes, such as a simple pasta al pomodoro.
