Description
Rosso di Montepulciano, Duca di Saragnano, Tuscany, Italy, 2024
The Duca di Saragnano winery, currently led by Marco & Paolo Barbanera, has been making wine in Tuscany since 1938 and their Rosso di Montepulciano is a classic Tuscan blend with the majority being Sangiovese aged in stainless steel tanks. Using fruit from hilly vineyards in Validichiana near the towns of Montepulciano and Siena.
Producer Tasting Note:
The intense red colour reveals strong purple hues. Deeply vinous on the nose with enticing notes of forest berries, cherry and delicate spicy scents. Dry, rich and well-structured across the palate.
Critical Acclaim:
Awarded 94/100 points, Luca Maroni, May 2025
Food Match: We recommend drinking this as the locals do with a meal of cured meats, bread and mature cheeses (Pecorino)
