Producer Tasting Note:
Appearance: Visually, the Ruinart Blanc de Blancs has a brilliant robe with a beautiful pale yellow colour and slight hints of almond green and jade green reflections.
Nose: The first nose reveals intense aromas of fresh fruit: ripe lemon, juicy pear, or freshly picked peach. The secondary aromas are more floral with hints of white flowers, accompanied by a spicy touch combining ginger and pink peppercorns.
Taste: Balancing tension with roundness, the enveloping structure is highlighted by fresh aromas of ripe citrus, nectarine, apricot, cherry-plum and tropical fruit with a long and delicate finale.
A touch of class. The Ruinart champagnes are made with more reserve wines than are normal for non vintage wines leading to wines with a much greater structure and body.
Today, Ruinart owns and cultivates 200 hectares of vineyards, which covers a portion of the production needs. While the vineyards are not farmed organically, the viticulture has gone much more thoughtful lately: herbicides have been eliminated from productive vines since 2020, cover crops are now practiced across more than 60 hectares, and deep soil cultivation has been reduced to the bare minimum, replaced with shallow scratching for weed management. More recent initiatives include planting trees and hedgerows around vineyard parcels to restore biodiversity and encourage the return of wildlife.
Ruinart Blanc de Blancs includes some 25–30 different chardonnay crus, predominantly from the Côte des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, the Sézannais and La Vallée de la Vesle. They reflect the rich diversity of the Champagne terroir.

"Despite its premium positioning, often criticized for its high price compared to similar, less expensive champagnes, Ruinart Blanc de Blancs remains a benchmark, appreciated for its refined and accessible style. From the first glance, it seduces with its brilliant, luminous pale gold color. A delicate nose blossoms with finesse, offering a flight of floral notes and fresh lemon. As it aerates, touches of white-fleshed fruits, such as green apple and juicy pear, join more complex aromas of fresh hazelnut and lightly buttered brioche. On the palate, it is distinguished by its purity and minerality. The attack is lively and precise, carried by a brilliant freshness. The bubbles, fine and light, glide elegantly, offering an almost creamy texture. The aromas perceived on the nose are echoed on the palate, with a pleasant sensation of crunchy fruits and a subtle hint of brioche, which evolves into a refreshing finish. Serve at 10°C. Perfect as an aperitif or to accompany scallop carpaccio, pasta with parmesan, oysters, Provençal snails, smoked salmon, or lobster salad."

"Based on the 2022 vintage and incorporating 30% reserve wines—predominantly from 2021, with smaller contributions from 2020 and 2019—Ruinart’s newest NV Blanc de Blancs was disgorged in February 2025 with a dosage of six grams per liter. It unfurls from the glass with aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, lemon oil and peach, mingling with early blooming white flowers. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, elegantly muscular and enveloping, with a fleshy core of fruit and ripe yet vibrant acidity. It stands in contrast to the 2021 base (disgorged in January 2024), which, shaped by its vintage, is more incisive, racy and fresh compared to the broader-shouldered, more textural 2022 base."
