Grapes: A blend of mostly Chardonnay with Chenin and 10% Pinot Noir, limestone soil, 60ha vineyard, hand picked, traditional bottle fermented, aged minimum 12 months
Producer Tasting Note:
A lovely glimmering pale pink colour. A mineral nose typical of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes that make up this cuvee. A frank, fresh attack accompanied by delicate bubbles. Subtle aromas of raspberry and small red berries in the mouth. Remarkable acidic balance and length giving an overall sensation of elegance.
The Maison SALASAR, located in the Upper Aude Valley at Campagne sur Aude, was founded in 1890. Its vineyards lie between 300 and 500m above sea level between Carcassonne and the foot of the Pyrenees. The climate benefits from Mediterranean and oceanic influences, which gives it good sunshine and optimal rainfall.
