Description

Sileni "Cellar Selection" Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, South Island, New Zealand, 2025

Grape: 100% Sauvignon Blanc, sustainable farming, unoaked

Producer Tasting Note:

The Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc has really expressive, tangy grapefruit, and tropical papaya and guava fruit. A zingy finish, generous mouth feel and impeccable balance.

Critics' Tasting Notes:

"It's intense and inviting on the nose, showing kiwifruit, lime zest, and crunchy apple characters, followed by a juicy palate that's punchy and flavoursome. Fabulously expressed and lingering with plenty of tasty flavours. At its best: now to 2028."

93/100 points (5 Stars), Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, July 2025

"Pungent, varietal and fruity with core flavours of cape gooseberry and lemon skin then white fleshed pomaceous fruits and fresh herbs. Crisp and dry, salivating and saline on the finish. A vibrant and fruity wine with power, laser-beam acidity and packed with flavour. Best drinking from late 2025 through 2027."

93/100 points (Excellent), Cameron Douglas MS, September 2025

"This bright, tropical white has aromas of passion fruit, star fruit and kiwi fruit. Medium-bodied with a fresh finish. Sustainable. Drink now. Screw cap."

90/100 points, James Suckling, November 2025

Also awarded GOLD, New Zealand International Wine Show, 2025

Winemaking: Grown on a variety of soil types - gravels which provide tropical flavours, clay loams produce citrus notes, and deep silty soils lift the aromatic quality. Fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain the natural fruit characters. Sourced from Awatere Velley and Wairau Valley fruit.

Estate: Sileni Estates was born from a long-standing interest in wine by Graeme Avery. In late 1997, along with financial director Chris Cowper and winemaker Grant Edmonds, he established Sileni as an export-oriented producer, committed to crafting world-class fine wines.

Food Match: Try with a goat's cheese and sun-blush tomato tart
