Producer Tasting Note:
The Cellar Selection Pinot Gris has classic aromatic peach, orange blossom and dried apricot flavours, finishing with a hint of saltiness.
Winemaking: Grown on a variety of soil types including gravels, silt and loam which provide depth and complexity of flavour. Grapes were destemmed and gently pressed, then fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain their natural fruit characters. Extended lees ageing, post-fermentation, gives the wine added texture to the palate.
Estate: Sileni Estates was born from a long-standing interest in wine by Graeme Avery. In late 1997, along with financial director Chris Cowper and winemaker Grant Edmonds, he established Sileni as an export-oriented producer, committed to crafting world-class fine wines.
Food Match: Delicious with grilled scallops drizzled with lemon and a light sprinkle of cracked pepper and sea salt. Also try with pork dumplings or a Thai green curry
