Tequila

Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, primarily close to the city of Tequila, near Guadalajara, and in the highlands (Los Altos) of the western Mexican state of Jalisco.

More than 300 million plants are harvested each year. Blue agaves grown in the highlands are larger and sweeter. Agaves harvested in the lowlands have a more herbaceous fragrance and flavour.
