Aglianico

Aglianico is a red grape variety native to the south of Italy producing full-bodied, deep wines, graphite-scented with high acidity and red fruit, cherry flavours. Most of the wines are made in Campania and Basilicata in Italy with some new, experimental wines from the New World, particularly in the warmer areas of Australia and California, having commercial success. Pair Aglianico wines with pappardelle pasta and pork ragout, game, slow-cooked Italian meat dishes, or strong cheeses.
