Grapes: A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, surface gravel over clay sub-soil, 43hl/ha yield, aged in French oak barrels for 14-16 months (35% new wood)

Now ready to drink, this "second" wine of Chateau D' Issan 3eme Grand Cru Classé is produced from the youngest vines of the "clos", offering a tasty round fruitiness, which can be enjoyed earlier than the main wine. On the nose, a nice balance between the red fruits and toasted aromas. Soft and silky tannins. Long finish.

"You can tell that this is ripe with so much plum and peach character, yet it remains fresh and vivid. Medium to full body with ripe and round tannins and a savory undertone. A blend of 60% cabernet sauvignon and 40% merlot. So delicious already, but be patient and wait another two or three years. Try after 2021."
