Grapes: A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot, sandy gravel soil over clay/limestone, 20 year old vines, hand picked, matured in oak barrels (20% new)
The "second" wine of Chateau Cissac, made from the younger vines, shows a dark, brick red colour with a high viscosity. This vintage has a mouthwatering bouquet of red fruits and soft spices. Plums & blackcurrants reveal themselves blended with hints of vanilla and liquorice on the palate. Elegant, silky tannins and a vibrant acidity make this wine perfect with food.
Chateau Cissac is located right in the heart of the Medoc region. Its exceptional terroir adjoins that of the prestigious Saint Estephe and Pauillac appellations. This Haut Medoc wine, from an excellent vintage, makes great value drinking.
