Description
Chateau Kalian Bernasse, Monbazillac, Dordogne, France, 2024, Half Bottle
Grapes: A blend of 90% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle, organic
Chateau Kalian Bernasse, located on the banks of the Dordogne in the Bergerac region, produces one of the most famous sweet white wines in France. Father and son team, Alain and Kilian Griaud, produce a wine that's made in a style similar to those of neighbouring Sauternes, with the sweetness coming from grapes affected by "Noble Rot" which dries/shrivels them on the vine, concentrating the natural sugars.
Producer Tasting Note:
A nose of dried apricots and honey. A beautiful balance between acidity and sweetness. Very fruity on the palate.
Food Match: Drink on its own, or pair it with foie gras, Asian dishes, Dolcelatte cheese, crème brûlée, pastries, chocolate cake and fruit desserts.
