Grapes: 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot & 3% Petit Verdot, organic, 70ha of vineyards on clay/gravel soils, Yield 52hl/ha, aged 18 months in 50% new French oak barrels

Owned, since 1994, by the fashion house of Chanel, the quality of this chateau's wine has been on the increase.

Producer Tasting Note: 

The 2006 vintage is evolving elegantly and its tannins have softened out nicely. It shows a well-evolved colour and a delicate blend of black and red fruits on the nose. These initial aromas evolve towards notes of cherry and candied fruits after aeration. The palate discloses notes of orange and blond tobacco combined with floral notes of rose. The tasting suggests excellent ageing potential and a subtle evolution of aromas.

"Deep garnet in color with a touch of brick, the 2006 Rauzan-Ségla gives up dusty earth, sandalwood, cigar and Indian spices scents with a core of mincemeat pie, prunes and dried mulberries plus a waft of dried roses. Medium-bodied, firm and chewy, it has bags of freshness supporting the muscular core of evolved, spicy fruit, finishing minerally"  Drink 2020-2029
