Grape: 100% Merlot, 21ha vineyard on sandy gravel soil, machine harvested, aged 12 months in French oak barrels (50% new)

Producer Tasting Note:

Deep red colour with purple highlights. Spicy and fruity notes, accompanied by aromas of morello cherry and mocha. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, balanced, and persistent, with hints of plum jam and caramel.

The Helfrich family (of Les Grand Chai de France) has owned Château Sergant since 2012. Hubert De Bouard, the owner of the famous Château Angélus, is the consultant winemaker.

"Edges of smoked caramel, this has a sweetness to it, with the concentrated black fruits of the vintage, fully ripe, a little abrupt on the finish, but charming, well balanced, easy to approach, no need to wait too long. 50% new oak."  Drink 2024-2028
