Producer Tasting Note:

A natural, light red wine, juicy and bright with snappy acidity, raspberry and sour cherry flavours with an herbal, savoury thread. Silky, low-extraction tannins keep it highly drinkable.

Estate: Cota Vina is a small, family winery based in Oklaj, in the rugged hinterland of northern Dalmatia, close to Krka National Park and around 22 km from the Adriatic coast. Established in 1911, Petar Cota works his great-grandfather’s vineyards on the slopes of Promina Mountain with minimal intervention, making delicious thirst-quenching wines from local varieties. The vineyards occupy a fascinating position between Mediterranean, continental and mountainous influences. Oklaj lies inland from the Dalmatian coast, with the Dinaric mountains surrounding the vineyards and the Adriatic still close enough to influence the climate.

Food Match: Traditional Croatian pairings include a veal or lamb Peka, octopus salad, a platter of dry-cured Dalmatian ham (Pršut) and hard sheep's milk cheeses like Paški sir. "Pero J`Dero" is best served slightly chilled.
