Durif

Durif (Petite Syrah in North & South America) is originally French in origin and is a late ripening variety. It makes intense, structured, inky wines that are often used for blending. Now a popular variety grown in Australia, it has commonly noted flavours including blueberry, blackberry, plum and chocolate with nuances of black pepper, black tea, liquorice and herbs. The floral, violet & lavender aroma profile is a noticeable characteristic of this variety's wines. Food pairings include BBQ/grilled meats and vegetables, game birds and strong cheeses.
