Grillo is a white Italian wine grape variety (a crossing between Catarratto and Moscato di Alessandria) which withstands high temperatures and is widely used in Sicilian wine-making. In earlier times, it was the mainstay of production for Marsala wines from the western end of the island. Rupe Secca is a superb example of what can be achieved from this grape with its intense bouquet and lovely palate of citrus and tropical fruit flavours and refreshing acidity.
