Japanese Whisky

Whisky production in Japan began around 1870, but the first commercial production was in 1924 upon the opening of the country's first distillery, Yamazaki. Broadly speaking the style of Japanese whisky is similar to that of Scotch whisky.

By far the largest producers, owning many of the most well known brands, are Suntory and Nikka. Today, there are over 50 distilleries operating in the country with smaller names including the excellent Chichibu, Hanyu and Mars.

With many of the single malts achieving well deserved critical acclaim, worldwide, it's not surprising that, with increased demand from connoisseurs and collectors alike, stocks have become difficult to obtain and prices have jumped enormously.

The quality, however, of these whiskies is extraordinary. Frazier Jones are now offering a comprehensive selection of Japanese malt whiskies from a private customer's collection.. Many of these are from limited edition, single casks and are extremely rare, with worldwide production of a few hundred bottles. These are all offered with VAT free prices! Superb as a gift for whisky connoisseurs and for those consumers looking for the ultimate expression of the art of fine whisky making in Japan.
