Grape: 100% Chenin Blanc, hand picked fruit from 43 year old vines. Whole bunch pressing, natural fermentation until dry, ageing 12 months in various 300/400/500L oak barrels.

Producer Tasting Note:

A dry Chenin with a deep, complex nose of bruised yellow fruits, white peach, creamy and plush, showing honeyed pineapples, leesy yellow fruits. Plenty of gravitas, fruit weight, focus and textural complexity. The palate is medium bodied and fresh with a richly fruited core leading to a crisp, dry finish.

From an unirrigated vineyard with weathered granite topsoil and crumbly clay sub-soil, it is called 'Kliprug' by the farm workers because of the numerous rocks on the ground. 

Critic's Tasting Note:

"The 2022 Kliprug Chenin Blanc presents more layers and texture, offering a fresh and complex profile. It unfolds with waxy melon, spiced lemon, yellow apples and Asian pears. The palate reveals a weighted texture with a spicy aftertaste reminiscent of lemon meringue and a hint of peanut butter. Enjoy its refreshing beam of acidity, which subtly hints at lemon cookie and lemon yogurt."  Drink 2024-2033
