Grapes: 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot & 7% Petit Verdot, 118ha vineyard on gravel/clay soil, 30 year old vines, 13 months ageing in French oak barrels (20% new)

The "second" wine of Chateau Lagrange produced from the younger vines on the estate.

Producer Tasting Note:

A complex nose, with a mouth that is “gourmande” is how to describe this great vintage of Les Fiefs de Lagrange! Cherry, blackcurrant, liquorice and pepper aromas dominate the palate but also with a cool roundness that brings with it a certain elegance. A long finish for this wine.

"Strong ruby garnet, violet reflections, wider water edge, delicate herbal and spicy cherry fruit, a hint of plums, nuances of orange zest. Medium complexity, fresh red berries, subtle tannins, mineral aftertaste, already accessible."

"The nose is nicely concentrated, powerful and gourmand. It reveals notes of fresh fruits, strawberry, blackberry, cherry, black cherry and flowers (including iris) associated with notes of blond tobacco as well as a touch of gray pepper and Zan. The palate is fruity, round, well structured and offers a nice tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of ripe black fruit, juicy fruit (blackcurrant, plum flesh) associated with hints of red fruits as well as touches of pepper, spices, licorice, toasted touches and vanilla on the finish. Good length."
