Producer Tasting Note:

A superb, brilliant red colour with violet highlights. An intense and powerful nose with aromas of black fruit and spices. The palate is generous yet supple with velvety tannins and offers a very long finish.

Region: Today Cairanne has become a charming village where, around a rocky outcrop, a playful river, sunny hillsides, fragrant garrigue are revealed… Its vineyard is located on the border of two areas: it thus reconciles the northern Rhône and its Syrah with the southern Grenache and Mourvèdre. This wine is the result of rigorous production by some of our best partner winemakers, whose blending and ageing were carried out by our teams with the constant concern to illustrate the best of the appellation.

The origins of this vineyard date back to Antiquity. It was successively cultivated by the Gauls and the Romans before falling under the yoke of the barbarians. It was in the Middle Ages that it experienced a tremendous boom, expanding from the outskirts of its village to the vast surrounding plains, under the orders of the Templars, the Hospitallers, and finally the Popes.

Food Match: French regional dishes include Avignon caillette (a rustic pork, liver, and herb terrine wrapped in caul fat), Escargot (Snails in a tomato/spicy sauce), Clafoutis ("chambrand") savoury cherry dessert
