Angludet - A Customer Favourite

Angludet - A Customer Favourite

Published by Francis Elms on 14th May 2026

A classically styled Margaux shaped by an exceptionally hot and dry growing season, Château Angludet 2025 offers both concentration and freshness in equal measure.

This year, the blend comprises Cabernet Sauvignon (55%), supported by Merlot (38%) and Petit Verdot (7%), with 13% ABV and a yield of only 30hl/ha. The wine is aged for 12 months in a combination of barrels (35% new oak) and amphorae, enhancing both structure and purity.

An excellent wine made by Benjamin Sichel using biodynamic principles, Angludet is a useful choice for buyers who want Margaux fragrance and left-bank structure in a more approachable style. It works well for those seeking elegance and early harmony rather than sheer scale.

Critics have also given the wine good reviews and the 2025 vintage should be approachable for drinking when it is eventually released onto the market, with potential for further development over a fifteen year period in good storage.

"Flowers, espresso, cherries, licorice, and tobacco create the core of this medium-bodied, soft, fresh, polished, early-drinking Margaux. This should offer quite a bit of charm on release and for at least 12-15 years after that. Drink from 2028-2040"

(90-92)/100 points, Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider

"The wine has a deep, dark, but not opaque purple-ruby color. Black fruit aromas – cassis & black plum –are overlaid by meaty / savory, slightly reduced notes. The palate is fresh with a fine structure, some lively redcurrant / mulberry fruit & sweetcedary / vanilla spices. Alcohol is balanced & the structure is fine & a touch gripping. Cedary notes follow mouthwatering cassis fruit on the mid-palate, The wine is of mid-weight & the finish is long & elegant. Juicy redcurrant & cassis fruit combines with cedar spices on the finish"
