"Vive la France!", I hear you cry. Everybody is going to be drinking claret at this price and quality. You know it makes sense.
Chateau Beaumont Cru Bourgeois Superieur Haut-Medoc 2025 "En Primeur"... available to order now from your favourite wine merchant and all-round good guys, Frazier Jones.
In case you've been living under a rock, off grid, or you're simply not a fan of French wines, now is the time to convince you to look again at Bordeaux. It's the biggest wine producing region in France and has a rich and varied combination of chateaux making some of the grandest of wines and, at the same time, a plethora of fantastic "drinking" (rather than collectable) bottles. We've long been a supporter of this chateau and it's rightly become a firm customer favourite as its quality continues to rise inexorably, year on year. Chateau Beaumont has produced a wine offering excellent quality and great value in the 2025 vintage, epitomising the essence of the region's long winemaking history. (Was that "waxing lyrical" enough for you? I think I hit the "sweet spot" without overdoing it).
Blending 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot fruit from its vineyard located between the renowned communes of Margaux and Saint-Julien, on a single plot with deep. sandy/gravel soil, this is a traditional "left bank" claret, beloved by the British for centuries, and suitable for every dinner table.
The producer describes their wine as revealing a deep and intense colour, heralding a wine of beautiful density. The nose, which is particularly expressive, opens with crisp and vibrant fruit, delicately underscored by notes of liquorice. On the palate, the attack is both juicy and fresh, immediately bringing a sense of energy. The development reveals a well-defined structure, supported by supple and perfectly integrated tannins, which lend the wine a sense of roundness and harmony. The finish, elegantly marked by a touch of cocoa, prolongs the tasting experience with smoothness and precision. A wine that is both structured and indulgent, staying true to the estate's style while fully expressing the unique characteristics of the 2025 vintage.
Released now "En Primeur" at just £58 per case (6 x 75cl)- That's under £10 a bottle!
Chateau Beaumont is available to order in a wide variety of large format bottles, so why not indulge in a magnum or jeroboam for special occasions? Perfect for dinner parties to wow your guests who'll appreciate your knowledgeable selection of such a fine wine.

So, what do the world's wine critics say about the 2025 today?
