Grape: 100% Chardonnay, lightly oaked, no added sulphites

Producer Tasting Note:

Pale gold, limpid and clear, revealing aromas of white flowers, nougat and dried fruits with citrus and exotic fruit notes on the palate. Well-integrated buttery oak blends with the minerality of the terroir.

Fruit from 60-70 year old vines, mineral-rich, clay-limestone soil and ageing in well-seasoned oak barrels make this Pouilly Fuissé Vieilles Vignes a great Burgundy wine. 

Estate: Currently run by Jean-Francois Gonon, the fifth generation, 14ha family domaine is situated in Vergisson at the foot of the famous Roche de Solutré limestone escarpment, 10km west of Macon. The estate is deeply committed to environmental stewardship. Vine treatments are carried out only when necessary, and always after observation. Grass is planted between the rows to help control yields. This naturally reduces vine vigour, allowing the grapes to reach optimal ripeness more easily. HVE environmental certified.
