Description

Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico Giuseppe Lonardi, Veneto, Italy, 2019

Grapes: A blend of 75% Corvina Veronese, 20% Corvinone, 5% Rondinella & Croatina aged in oak vats for 36 months. Organic.

An elegant Amarone. Rich, spicy, warm, silky textured with scents of very ripe fruit and hints of wild berries.

Winemaking: the grapes are picked before the normal harvest time when only the best ones are selected. Drying time: they are put onto wooden racks for the drying process which will last for 90 days. Fermentation of dried grapes begins in January and lasts for 30 days in stainless steel tanks with several daily pumping over the skin of the grapes and the clearing of the must.

Giuseppe Lonardi was born in a family from the ancient culinary traditions. Restaurateurs were the father and the grandfather of Giuseppe, “ Bepi’s”, the first to translate in business the passion for cooking and good food. A love for good food and good drinks that are then passed on from generation to generation, as well as the habit has been handed down in the family, call Giuseppe all the firstborn. Grew up among the cooking fumes and smells of the winery, the current Giuseppe (Bepi), has learned to appreciate the good things, those made good and prepared with old passion. It's the same old passion that in 1984, thanks to the friend winemaker Roberto Ferrarini, began producing wine. Today the company has 7 hectares and produces wines that are well suited to the Classico area in Valpolicella.
Now, more and continuing the family tradition, the company has passed into the hands of his daughter, Silvia Lonardi, who continues her father's footsteps with dedication in search of new flavours that the land of the hills of Marano knows still offer.

Food Match: A dry wine, this is a great match with red meats, roasts and game. It is an ideal wine to be savoured "in meditation".
