Description
Chateau du Neurin, Haut Medoc, Bordeaux, France, 2018
Grapes: A Blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, sustainable farming, manual harvest
Producer Tasting Note:
A black-tinted, deep ruby red. The attack is a successful marriage of fruit (black berried fruit, jammy notes, prune) and spices, followed by a supple, rounded palate with deliciously mouth-filling tannins. An elegant wine with all the typical characteristics of the Haut-Medoc.
Critic's Tasting Note:
"Beautiful dark red with garnet tints. Classic nose combining ripe red and black fruits with a lightly spiced oaky character. Fairly lively, ample palate capped off with a feeling of freshness and fruit. The oak influence stays evident."
SILVER MEDAL, Gilbert & Gaillard, January 2021
Estate: Established originally in the 1970s by the Murcia family, and vinified by the local Cussac cooperative, the property has been run since the 2017 harvest by Earl C Brun and members of his family, with the wine now being made in their own cellars.
Food Match: Grilled meats, rabbit with Basquaise sauce, cheeses
