Description

Esprit de Sainte Victoire, Famille Ravoire, AOP Provence Rosé Cru Sainte-Victoire, South of France, 2025

Grapes: A blend of 80% Grenache Noir, 10% Syrah and 10% Cinsault, clay-limestone soil with crushed pebbles, 35 year average vine age, lees ageing, unoaked

Producer Tasting Note:

Pleasant rose petal pink. Intense nose opening onto notes of red berries and nectarine. A chalky, mineral core with a refreshing, suave mouthfeel, nuances of exotic fruits, red fruits and citrus fruits.

Critical Acclaim:

SILVER MEDAL Concours des Vins des Courtiers Assermentés de France, 2026

Estate: The vineyard is run by Jean-Claude Lopez. It enjoys a continental microclimate and grows on stony soil, with poor subsoil, which offer favourable conditions to obtain quality grapes and confers natural suppleness to the wines.

The vines grow between pine trees and olive trees on the southern slope of the impressive, rocky Mont Sainte-Victoire, spreading over perfectly exposed hillsides. With a continental microclimate and under the drying effect of the Mistral wind, the vines, in addition to natural sunlight, also benefit from the sun's rays reflected off the white stone of the mountain. This unique luminosity facilitates photosynthesis and increases the density of grapes on the bunches.

In 2025, Sainte-Victoire, covering the hillsides of the Upper Arc Valley (to the far west of the region), was recognised as a single "Cru" within the Cotes de Provence appellation.

Food Match: Serve at 8°C to 10°C with seafood and shellfish (bouillabaisse), ratatouille, pork tenderloin, dishes with cardamom, coriander, & turmeric spices (Keralan fish curry), Vietnamese fresh rolls, North African tagines, fresh chèvre, burrata & feta cheeses
