Plavina is a rare red grape variety from the Dalmation coast in Croatia. It is sometimes confused with the better known Plavac Mali, but is, in fact, unrelated. Plavina is part of a larger group of red varieties related to Zinfandel (known in Croatia as Crljenak Kastelanski() and produces wines with high acidty and low tannins.
