Grapes: 70% Corvina Veronese & 30% Rondinella, only estate grown fruit, hand picked 

Producer Tasting Note: 

This Valpolicella is ruby red in colour, with youthful highlights. Fragrant fruit with prominent notes of dark cherries are echoed by fresher hints of pepper and aromatic herbs (dried oregano & thyme), typical of Corvina and its genetic cousin Corvinone, the historic varieties of this appellation. Impressively lively and playful on the palate, whilst exhibiting delicacy and finesse at the same time. This wine, from the hills of the Classico area, is a delicious example from these famous vineyards. Corvina expresses its vibrant and quaffable character with fresh and bright cherry flavours.

Critic's Tasting Note:

"Full screwcapped bottle 1,142 g. A 70% Corvina, 30% Rondinella blend. Fermented in tank, unoaked. 
Light to mid crimson. Jumping with life and bright cherry fruit but does not smell overly sweet-fruited. There’s an attractive savoury side to the aroma and an impression of crushed stones. Fragrant without being floral. Juicy, dry, vibrant and just makes you want another sip. Thirst-quenchingly fresh with a tangy, red-fruited bite on the finish. This was a great match with mushroom-deep pasta but you could also enjoy it on its own. Drink cool but not too cold. Would be a great house wine."

Allegrini is one of the leading producers in the Veneto region and the family has been connected with winemaking since the 16th century. Today's company, founded by Giovanni Allegrini in the mid 20th century, is particularly renowned for its Amarone production.
