Whisky (Uisghe Beatha, the Water of Life) has evolved over more than 500 years to give us a fabulous range of rich single malts, complex pure malts and distinctive Scotch blends.
Whiskies are produced in most grain-growing areas. They differ in base product, alcoholic content, and quality. Malt made entirely from malted barley and distilled in a pot still. Grain is made from malted and unmalted barley along with other grains, usually in a ‘Coffey’ still.
